Our Mission
Doctor ProfileDr. Jennifer Mattson is a native of Columbus, Ohio and a graduate of Westland High School. She received her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University and graduated with a B.S. in Biology (graduation with honors in the liberal arts) in 2002. She then attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry in Columbus, Ohio, one of the top ranked colleges of optometry in the United States. While in optometry school, Dr. Mattson served on several student groups including Lions Club (clinic scheduler, 3rd year), Beta Sigma Kappa (president and vice-president), Optometry Student Council (vice-president), Optometry Honor Council (president and vice-president), and Class of 2006 Representative (4 years). She has also been a member of the American Optometric Student Association, Sports Vision Club, and Fellowship of Christian Optometrist. During her fourth year of school, Dr. Mattson completed a rigorous ocular disease externship program with Dr. Harmeet Chawla of Eye Specialists of Ohio where she encountered patients with all types of ocular disease and had nearly 1000 patient visits in a 13 week rotation. She has also completed externships at Dayton Eye Associates, Eye Care Professionals of Powell, and OSU Family Practice South High Clinic. Dr. Mattson received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2006 from The Ohio State University and graduated Cum Laude. She was also a recipient of the 2006 Odyssey Ocular Disease Award for the outstanding management of ocular disease and patient care. Dr. Mattson is very excited to be able to serve the eye care needs of residents of the Galloway, Hilliard, and Westland areas. In addition to primary eye care and contact lens fitting, her practice interests include pediatric eye care, the treatment of binocular vision problems, and management of ocular disease. In addition to seeing patients at Galloway Eye Care, Dr. Mattson is a Clinical Instructor at the Ohio State University College of Optometry Binocular Vision and Pediatric Vision Service and Primary Care Vision Service. Dr. Mattson is a long time resident of Lincoln Village, where she resides with her husband and two children.
